Dr. Khurana completed advanced Interventional Radiology training at premier institutions, including Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he developed expertise in embolization therapy, interventional oncology, minimally invasive cancer treatment, and complex vascular interventions.

Advancing embolization procedures
Dr. Khurana has been involved in advancing embolization therapies throughout his career and was among the early physicians participating in pilot work involving genicular artery embolization in collaboration with Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell, initially for recurrent hemarthrosis following knee arthroplasty before the procedure later expanded into treatment for knee osteoarthritis.
Professorship and authorship
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Khurana is deeply involved in physician education and mentorship. As an Associate Professor, he has taught residents, fellows, and physicians in training for many years and remains passionate about advancing the field of Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Khurana is also a published author in Interventional Radiology and co-authored the chapter “Principles of Embolization” in the textbook Clinical Interventional Oncology, reflecting his extensive expertise in embolization procedures and locoregional therapies.
Dr. Khurana’s journey into medicine
Dr. Khurana’s journey into medicine began early. At age 16, he was accepted into a highly selective accelerated BA/MD program with full scholarship — a prestigious direct-admission medical program accepting only a small number of students nationwide. Coming from four generations of physicians and more than 30 doctors in his extended family, medicine has always been deeply rooted in his life.

Despite his extensive experience and leadership roles, Dr. Khurana believes that the most important part of medicine is personal connection and trust. His philosophy is simple: treat every patient the same way he would want his own family members treated. He believes in taking time to listen carefully, explain all available treatment options honestly, and guide patients toward the safest and most effective minimally invasive solution for their individual needs.
