Shayan Rashid, MD

Dr. Shayan Rashid is the medical director of University Radiology Vascular and Interventional center. He also serves as the division chief of Interventional Radiology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s radiology department. Dr. Rashid is known for his expertise in treating a variety of conditions with advanced minimally invasive procedures, including enlarged prostate (BPH), uterine fibroids, knee osteoarthritis, hemorrhoids, peripheral arterial disease, varicose veins, and cancer-related conditions.

Schooling

Dr. Rashid completed a 7-year BA/MD program at Rutgers University and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, graduating with distinction as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After graduating, Dr. Rashid continued his training at Yale University where he completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency followed by a Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship. During this time, he also served as chief resident for two years.

Experience

After completing training, Dr. Rashid returned to New Jersey and has been practicing as an Interventional Radiologist with University Radiology. He has performed over 300 embolization procedures. He has given numerous lectures on the topic of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and the role of prostate artery embolization (PAE) in the management of urinary symptoms in men including grand rounds lectures at local hospitals.
